Hey friends,

At the top of the year I decided I wanted to be more active in the 3D/Art community. That meant posting/critiquing here more frequently, working to develop more pieces, and expanding my presence in the creative space. One of the things I wanted to do was get a regular blog up and running.

I wanted to get some eyes on my blog - I'd like to see what's working, what's not, and maybe get some tips from folks who have had success with it. I encourage you to share yours as well! We can talk sites, presentation, content, and whatever else comes to mind. Just wanted to get a discussion going and maybe get some inspiration from others.

You'll find my blog below:

I'm polishing the template and look, but I think it's working. Let me know what you think. There's also a link to my portfolio if you'd like to have a look at that as well. Just trying to get myself out there a bit more this year.

Hope to see some of y'alls stuff too!

-Jon

Hey Jon, it's looking good man. I dig the blog. It's depressing seeing the Amalur stuff.. but at the same time I'm glad it's there, reminding me it wasn't a dream, heh.

Yeah, the Amalur MMO was codenamed "Project Copernicus" and was in development long before Reckoning. It is depressing seeing all that great work sitting there too, wonder what'll eventually happen with it?

Do you all think that having the blog focus on multiple ventures is okay? I sorta wanted it to be grounded in game art stuff, but have the occasional music or photography post.

oh man this is the first I've seen of Copernicus, I was really looking forward to seeing it and the art is great in it. Such a shame :( I like the blog, I've bookmarked it. I was thinking of starting a blog too just to show my latest WIP stuff and maybe share the odd inspiring folio :)

After seeing it I would hope that another company will pick this up and get the original team to see it finished...but I don't know how copyright and all that legal mumo jumo works on this type of stuff. I can't stress how awesome this would have been...after playing Amalur I was always wishing for "more" of this world....you guys really did a great job on the art.

Personally, now knowing that you work in the game art field I would want to look at your blog for game art stuff and see what and how you do it...little bits of music for me to go,"hey I like them too, cool" is great.
