As a 3D Character Artist, you are going to be responsible for the realization of the player model(s) and various other NPC characters. There is guidance from professional concept artists, who can aid you with any needed material (full sheets, detail shots, full illustrations etc). We are looking for highly talented character artists, who are not only able to produce great models, but also create great textures for the models.
3D Environment Artist
We are looking for talented 3D Environment Artists, who can produce anything from simple to complex props. This position also comes with the oppertunity to work with material produced by professional concept artists and illustrators to help you in the process. It's essential to also work with photographies as reference material, though.
Texture Artist
As a Texture Artist in our team you are going to do everything from improving old texture work to creating totally new textures from scratch. You are going to be responsible to make the levels of Mindworld look as beautiful as possible.
Concept Artist
We are currently looking for further additions to our concept art department. This position comes with great responsibility, as you're going to have a very big influence on the style of the game. You are going to design big parts of the environments. This position gives you the chance to see your vision come to life.
Requirements:
Efficient and fast workflow
Well-organized data management
Bonus:
Experienced with other fields of specialization in game development
Experienced with single client work
Experienced with studio work
Benefits:
While there are no monetary rewards, these position give the great chance to not only gain experience in your fields, but to also work together with highly motivated individuals in a team. It is required to give and take constructive critism and simply push the designs to the limits to give the player the best gaming experience possible. In addition, we are focussing on creating high quality in all points of design, which means that you'll get great video material to publish on your blogs/websites to showcase your work, which you have contributed to the team. The project was awarded with nominations for Top 100 Upcoming Indie of the Year 2011, aswell as Top 100 Upcoming Mod of the Year 2012. We are an organized team, which has been working on the project for the past 2 years without any stops in development. You can expect a solid foundation and work done in pretty much every area of development. We have established a network to various people to let people know about this project. Your work is going to be seen!
Required time:
Each position requires a minimum of 6-8 hours per week, the amount of time you have to put into this project is highly depending on how efficient you work. It makes sense that you will need less time, if you produce high quality at any point, so the given times are just a rough estimate. It's very important that you can react fast to e-mails and inquiries via smart phone or any other devices, though. Also, there are meetings usually taking place every 2 weeks, which we highly recommend attending to.
We use our forums, DropBox, asana, e-mail and Skype for the exchange of data and information. Further information can be given upon request.
