I've created a terrain using Vue.
I exported it to Maya and rendered using mental ray.
To my surprise, I got really different results from what I was originally getting inside Vue.
Then I rendered it in 3dS Max (also using mental Ray) to check if the file was corrupted, and achieved similar(but somewhat more washed out) results to Vue's render.
I tweaked a lot my render settings and got nowhere.
Why my Maya scene looks so bad?

If not you can't expect identical results without doing it yourself..
It's almost the same thing.
JR, it is very similar now. Thanks for taking your time to edit it.
Maybe what was bothering me was the fact that in Maya, the colors were warm, which in my mind, hurts the aerial perspective's "bluish" atmospheric effect.
I'll render as is, and then color correct it.
