I'm calling this done for now...
===================================================
Hey guys, I've been modeling a forklift (concept:

I am trying to do screencap in Marmoset this time and am looking for critiques on if my materials look right before I move on to texturing.
Parts that aren't finished yet are the seat, and the glass pieces (opaque black for now).

sweet modeling tho
I'm not sure I understand.
1, 2, 3, 4 all seem pretty rubber to me.
I assume it would not be exposed though?
also, way too metal, when you model, model with paint on, like real vehicles, gives you better perspective
good luck & cant wait to see it finished
this, obviously when you bake the normal map.

Here's the frontal view, a bit obstructed but I think it's alright compared to some more modern forklifts
check this out and have fun

edit: ah very nice, now he/she can see but what about protection ? ( just for the fun of creativity)
edit2:
well this is ugly but maybe you can use inspiration from this

I'm not texturing into detail yet, just getting the base material pass first.
Will get into the details soon
Also gave the seat a material, though I think it's a bit too bright now, which I will give it a tweak next.

it really is missing some AO. bake the AO of ur final (non-exploded) LP onto itself. and multiply it at the top of ur layer stack in photoshop. It will help a lot.
The weight you do have at the back of your forklift should sit a lot lower.
Also, I agree with the comment about the wheels. But would add that forklift wheels are made of solid rubber. The chrome rims are really nice, but don't make a lot of sense from a weight bearing point of view, particularly as the side walls on the tyres you have bulge out like regular car tyres.
You also wouldn't have any kind of ID numbers or anything inside a caution strip like that.
Hope that helps a bit. Keep at it. I think the idea is really solid. I love sci-fi industrial stuff like this!
I looked up some more images of modern forklifts and you are indeed correct. Thanks for the feedback, though I am currently too far in to make modeling changes now.
The arrow shows me that the forklift should be way lower than it is but I don't understand the red circles in your image though...
Red circles were just highlighting the solid wheels and number inside the caution strip. (Updated my feedback after posting, sorry.)
Thank you for the notes.

Running out of ideas now. Need some eyes/suggestions while generating AO's.
But I also feel like all the wear and tear stops once you hit the cockpit area, which is where I would imagine a lot of the damage and what not would happen, as the operator is climbing in and out of the vehicle all the time. But that's just my two cents.
