Some odd zBrush4r5 Polypaint behavior

I've noticed a couple of weird things since updating to r5 with polypainting. Maybe someone knows what's up with those.
1. If I use C to sample a color, it now samples it into the secondary color slot instead of primary. This means that every time I sample I also have to hit V to switch the colors around. Is there a way to change this behavior?
2. When polypainting in layers, if I Alt+paint to erase some polypaint, it leaves behind an aura of color. This color is whatever I have in my secondary-color slot. So if my secondary color is black, it leaves behind like a halo of black around the area I erased.
