V-Ray settings reseting themselves.

Hey, I have a fairly important project that I am currently working on and for the life of me I can't figure out why out of the blue, my V-Ray settings, more specifically the settings under the indirect illumination tab keep reverting to default. I can fix them back to how I need them, just it appears to be a random event when I render it reverts back to default or just as I have now, opened up the file to find its done it again.

So any suggestions why its done this? I am using a demo version of v-ray and my computer isn't the newest machine in the world.

6GB Ram

Any help would be great. Obviously I can keep putting the settings back, but just to know why or how its doing this and how I can prevent it would be awesome. Thanks for any help in advance, I'll check back here later.

Did you put your settings in to a preset? Vray tends to default back to default if rendersettings are non preset,i had it a few times, dunno why it does that.seems vray doesnt store the rendersettings in a scenenode, when it gathers data prior to render, except when presets are made

Ah thanks for that, I did some looking into it further and by the sounds of it, as you said, you need to save v-ray settings as a preset. I just didnt understand why every so often it was changing back... its a weird issue and I dont understand why they wouldn't make it so they stay as you save them. Oh well, at least we have found a way around the issue, thank-you for your help :D.

I have the same issue with GI settings.

But in my case, saving the vray render settings as a preset don't save GI settings. Moreover when saving it, it resets it to the standards settings each times. Also, there is a lot of other random actions that seems to put back the standards GI settings.

I'm new to vray as well, and testing setups with this issue is very annoying as I need to note all the parameters I change and put them back almost for each render which is a tremendous waste of time. XD

If someone knows ways to fix that, it would be very welcome.

    I'm using vray demo 2.30.

    Thanks in advance! :)

Make sure you don't have another vraysettings node in your scene, its possible for them to come in via references or scene assemblies. When there's more than one render settings it can crap itself.

A bit of necro, but should help others who chance on this thread...
