So I'm making a comedy adventure game called Psave Pseudoburger.
Presently I'm trying to get the protagonist together, but I've never been too strong at character art so any advice would be great.
The main plot point in Psave Pseudoburger is that you work for a once-successful fast food franchise called Pseudoburger.
You play as a man who's recently been promoted to a position so prestigious that no one at the company is actually sure what your duties are.
I haven't made any hair yet, because that's going to take some experimenting, but I'm probably not going to leave him bald. I think it might be wise to add the eyebrows in when I make the hair, and put them on the same texture sheet.
I kind of liked him bald too. It made him look too much like a slick executive at some kind of high-powered tech company or something though. He needs to look like he works for a once-great burger franchise now on its last legs.
The eyebrows are just placeholders for now, the uvs are laid out over a part of the hair. I like the way they look though, so I think the final eyebrows will be quite similar to these.
The suit could use another pass, thinking about pinstripes. I'll tone down the seam in the back when I do that.
The character itself looks cool, although animation feels kinda robotic - limbs kinda 'snapping' in movement, lacks a feeling of weight to the character almost as if he's floating while walking. Also, you could probably have a bit more twist in the torso. I'm not an animator though, so just trying to crit as best I can. Keep refining it and show another update
Haha, that's an interesting little game setup you have so far. The character turned out really nice! The animation could use some weight behind the steps, but it still looks good for a non-animator. If you're trying to make a whole game by yourself, doing this more simple style will definitely work in your favor. Good luck!
I hope to improve my animation skills considerably over the course of this project. I expect to do a few drafts of the walk cycle before I create one good enough to keep.
Little feature update:

hi there nice model good work on the suit...since you are giving him teeth u should keep his mouth open and give an inner extrusion for inner part of mouth...ur gray-scale model shows the character mouth doesn't have an opening....keep up the cool work
Thanks, he actually can open his mouth already (as you can see in the second half of the rig test video above). The reason that the low poly looks like he can't is because I modeled it so that when he closes his mouth it locks up perfectly so that the vertices from the upper and lower lip occupy the exact the same space.
This was, in retrospect, a serious mistake. It makes rigging unnecessarily complicated.
Just some simple computer props today. The texture jobs on these props are going to be very light and largely driven by the AO. This is both because I think it's going to suit the cartoon look of the game and (crucially) because this is a solo project and I have a lot of content to get through.
I'll try to go back and clean up the worst looking assets after I get further along in development. These look good enough for now though.
As for programming, my skills are rudimentary and years out of practice. So I can't really help you there.
I'm using a visual scripting system called Playmaker for this. Everything I've done for Pseudoburger was made that way. Here's a link to their website in case you're curious: http://www.hutonggames.com/

4600 triangles right now.
I like him bald, consider leaving him that way.

I'll have an actual art update next, probably tomorrow.

Polycount is about 3,500, which is higher than I'd like. I might go back later and optimize some of this stuff if I have the time.
