Hey to all,
Quick question, is it possible to preserve the volume of a mesh if it's skinned to two bones or more, all sharing the same amount of weight?
Example:
-I have a leather kneecap.
-This kneecap is sharing 50/50 skin with my calf and thigh.
-When my character bends their knee, I want the kneecap to try and stay in it's median position.
However, what I get instead if the mesh becoming smaller and losing volume, which kinda makes sense from a technical standpoint, but in this example, I would simply like said cap to remain and between the two points.
Is there a way, or should I bite the bullet and instead add an extra floaty bone in the middle and skin it to that?
