Ill probably get this when I get a 3ds but I haven't had that tingly excited feel for a Pokemon game since Diamond and Pearl and this didn't revive that feel.
Teejay, I will admit, i do hate pokemon, so my opinions may be skewed, but I think if they kept the same top down view as the originals, using next gen graphics, then the battle scenes looked like the picture above, it would be much better.
The only bad thing that I can see coming from this is that there are going to be some really shoddy models and battle animations in the mix. They're going to have to model 800+ monsters and have separate animation sets for each and every one of them, I'll really be surprised if they pull that many off well.
cell shading is totally fine with me, i just hoped to play it on a big screen
If and when they do that I hope it's a massively multiplayer game (same gameplay natch.) but with shading somewhere in the middle of what it is we're getting and that UDK shot. Y'know, just subtle...

They already have done that. Check out the Pokedex on the 3DS.
Also I find it funny that they've called these games X and Y, but the game has gained depth, which is the Z axis. :poly136: Probably a joke on their part.

Also, This for GTFO
I kinda agree. I wish they hadn't gone with a cel-shader. Not quite as dramatic as that image, but some shading would be nice.
chest-high wall, obviously.

But.. theres already 2 fully 3D pokemon games?
Pok
Nope, it was its own RPG, although yes sounds like it would be a pokemon stadium game. (which are just the battle arenas)
art direction reminds me of custom robo.
ideally this will lead to a full cross compatible Wii U version with appropriate graphics.
hopefully you'll be able to have more than ONE SAVE FILE
The Wii U gamepad controller would be perfect for that.
but this will work i guess :poly136:
