you mean showing progress starting with earliest stages of development? lots of indie devs do that. check out indiedb or crowdfunded projects.

Check out the guys from DoubleFine. They're doing a sort of humble indie bundle thing, and they're documenting the process of the buyer-chosen games they're working on. Also, check out indie game: the movie.
