Good start. I think the overall large noise is making it a bit mushy..and yeah..weathered rock can be mushy, but adding some variation(and by variation, I mean getting rid of the lumpiness and concentrating on the planes of the shape) to the overall noise frequency would help it lose the straight out of the microwave look
You have what appears to be a general noise treatment run on the entire mesh making it look soft and blobby. Removing that and focusing on the shapes of the stones and putting in some more larger cuts would give it a better shape.
Think less about micro detail and more about macro shapes ... get the large details and shapes down first before worrying about small noise.
So I made something like this, and I'm not happy with the result:
I don't have any idea on how to do that more rough.
Let me say to you, how I made this sculpt. You can say, what I'm doing wrong:
1. Base mesh in 3D Max.
2. Adding geometry in Zbrush ( ~2 mln poly/verts )
3. Trim dynamic brush on edges.
4. Clay Tubes brush, big intensity, big size, for biggest damage: rough sculpt ( I don't know how to say that )
5. Clay Tubes brush, low intensity, small size, for making rough noise.
6. Clay Tubes brush, mid intensity, mid size, changing from ZSub to ZAdd, and now I'm making basic shape on flat surface,
7. Trim Dynamic brush, high intensity, mid size, for "smoothen" sqare forms, created from Clay Tubes brush.
8. Clay Tubes brush, low intensity, small size, for making noise on surface.
Hi guys again. I've done some sculpts, isnpirated by one of the work on polycount:
3 crystals. It's look like a stone/rock but I can't catch any good material in Zbrush. It make me some time, to find a good shape's. I'm happy with the result of 3rd crystal:
What do you guys think? I know, it isn't PRO, but I don't find any wooden sculpt tuts in Zbrush or Modo on YT. If you can, please tell me some technique about sculpt that kind of stuff. Thanks.

Some cool ref:

I think, I'll leave it at that. I'm very, very happy with end result.
