Was browsing the wikipedia today, when I stumbled across this page.

Am I correct in thinking these are the same as, or at least very similar to, what we call Normal Maps? Could someone explain what exactly the differences are?

It sounds like a sort of map which is a crossbreed between a Normal, Radiosity map, which is able to also show the Vector-Displacement.
