I'm going to describe this to the best of my ability, but it's a weird problem.
1) I'm left handed and using a wacom tablet
2) I'll be sculpting as normal, say using clay tubes/mallet for making a rock. (It can happen with any brush though)
3) For what appears to be no reason, my mesh will suddenly zoom out and 1-2 "duplicate" meshes will appear on top of or near the mesh I'm working with.
4) If I go to Color -> Clear, the additional meshes disappear
5) I can then zoom back into my original mesh and continue working.
I'm pleased that I found a work around, but I'd like to know what shortcut I'm hitting to achieve this "strangeness". I can't figure it out, and it's annoying.
Thanks!

To erase the flattened data you can also just hit ctrl-n, bit faster.
