Have you guys seen this? I just heard about it and am so stoked! I was extremely sad when I found out they weren't updating terraria anymore. Now we're getting a full new game that is better in every way! Here's a few videos and info on it.

Procedurally created weapons, flora, planets, enemies, planets. Here's a sample of some of the guns. Not only do they all look different, they all act different as well. Whether it be clip size, or fire rate or whatever.

I got it on steam since a few days. Played 4 hours and there was a wipe today.

Yeah the dev said there would probably be a few wipes during beta as they rework major aspects of the game.
Played it a bit before the wipe, it's pretty fun with some friends! Still needs a bit of work in some areas, but it's amazing the amount of content that's in there already.
Will probably wait for full release to get back into it, character wipes are too mean.

save-file incompatibility, developers aren't deleting any saves

people could write save-file converters to bring their stuff over but that's low-priority for the devs at this point.

We're all pretty crazy for this game at the office!

Kinda glad I haven't picked up an XB or PS yet, this and the new Mario title is distraction enough :P

I too was hooked on Terraria for a bit, and welcomed the changes this game offers. I'm loving the overall improvements, especially the ability to resource larger sections and item placement with the matter manipulator. I'm sketch to spend too much time on it now as there is going to be another character wipe soon, though supposedly it's going to be the last one until beta ends. Not positive of that however.

I only played ~4 hours, before the first wipe, and i'm not going to play again until the beta ends. I hate to waste time for nothing, repeating all over again :S

how low does this go on sales? I ain't paying full price for another early crapexcess game. Looks interesting though, never played terraria.

Yea I need to just stop playing the beta since I will lose all the effort. But, I was enjoying it and learning about how the game works etc quite a bit. As far as Starbound on sale I haven't noticed that it has gone on sale. Perhaps because it's only been out recently, and is still in beta that it never went down during the holidays. Terraria goes down to $2.50 from $10 regularly, so I'd imagine Starbound will eventually have sales down to around $5. I myself already found it to be worth my $15 to support the team

I bought the game for 15$ as well. I think the game worth each cent, and i love to support these kind of great devs. Starbound is a jewel for me, one of those game you can replay several times.
