Art Director
Arc Productions, a Canadian based CG animation and visual effects facility located in downtown Toronto is looking for an Art Director to join our team. With over 250 artists and technical directors and the most up to date resources available, we bring the vision to both major Hollywood studios and independent producers to life in a wide array of formats: theatrical features, television, DVDs, shorts and game cinematics.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Act as main creative liaison between Arc Productions and the client, working closely with the show Director and Production Designer on all aspects of a show’s design, look and mood
· Lead team of artists through all creative aspects of a project, ensuring quality and consistency of style throughout the show
· May assign work based on individual specialties
· Provide guidance and support where required
· Provide training where required
· Provide direction and internal approval for all artistic elements and in-house design (i.e. assets, matte paintings, color design, lighting, visual effects etc...)
· Collaborate with Recruitment Manager on recruitment and selection of new hires
· Keep up to speed with current industry trends
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· 5+ years Art Department experience within the feature animated film industry
· Proven, significant experience with character and environment creation
· Demonstrated ability to adapt artistic style as required for each project
· Working knowledge of drawing software and CG animated film technology
· Cinematography knowledge an asset
· Hands on experience in any /all aspects of modeling, surfacing, layout, lighting, compositing an asset
