Hello!
I am wondering if people know of artists who've tried creating contemporary, modern or post modern environments using real-time engines like UDK and Crytek.
I've heard of a few architect firms using UDK for real-time solutions for their previs, but I am curious if its been taken further for complete, detailed and that 'artistic quality' that separates 'art' from 'previs'.
I've been thinking of tackling stuff like this as weekend projects and doing them as a series but want to see what others have done with it.
I think the biggest challenge would be to make the shots look like they were not made with UDK (or Crytek), as they have distinct looks to them best on their feature sets.
Examples of what I am thinking would be fun to design, develop, and light:

EDIT: Ah Blaisoid beat me :poly142:
I mean isn't 70% of what you see about high rez textures with some fancy shaders, and the other 30% about putting your lights in the right places and if optional, baking your lightmaps? Or is there something more I'm not seeing?
PS: I'm not talking about art-style or anything like, I'm talking about if it's possible or not, and from what I can see, it totally is possible.
