haha, thanks for the honesty tris, just have to keep at it now that have more free time.
yea Raul, its a new thing for me, but its pretty interesting to do rocks.
This is a super quick paint over, but maybe try something a little more like this. Establish the really hard shapes and make sure it has a neat silhouette. Afterwards add all the small details using alphas or the crumple brush.
hey guys, here is another rock. hopefully its looking better. rocks are harder than i thought.
tris- thanks for the paintover, really helped!
zombiewells- thanks for the rock sculpt, you know your stuff.
so I'm not calling it done, just a wip so i can get some more feedback on what looks good and what sucks. now that i look at the upload i think i could even push the silhouette a little more?
It's definitely a lot better, but it's still got that mushy sculpt feel. hit it up with a trim brush. to give it some nice flat edges and sharp turns - then you can go back in and carve in some more nicks and such.
hey guys. here is a finished version of a project ive meant to finish for some time. i reworked a bunch of stuff in this final version. next is the lowpoly. feedback is welcome.
