windows 7 annoying icon shuffeling.,

Ive noticed after 2-3 day my icons rearrange themselves randomly. this gets annoying because all my frequently used programs are to the right and the games and junk are to the left. its just something annoying that im currently trying to find an answer to now. does anyone else have this issue or better yet an answer?

also auto arrange is turned off.

My icons do ALWAYS (after each restart) arrange on the left, no matter what I do.
I hate it...

For that reason I gave up on using my desktop for anything other than a nice big arty wallpaper. Have been using 7stacks ever since.

whenever windows looses track of your desktop's resolution it auto arranges them for you. This can happen because
- The game you were just playing is a POS and confused windows about what your desktop resolution is
- You plugged in or unplugged a secondary monitor for the 'first time'
- You did not shut down windows through the start menu and start it up then shut it down after making desktop changes
- A secondary monitor was plugged in at start but not at shutdown or visa versa
If any of those things occur windows can get temperamental about icon layout. in your standard sue cases these don't come up much the more time you take to unplug monitors and shut down normally and only plugin monitors after windows has finished booting the better behaved it seems to be.

I just went back to the quick launch setup that win xp had. problem solved for me. I hated all the new features that came with windows 7. I'm sure some people like that but, it just reminds me of how useless the mac os is.

Isn´t switching of the automatic arrangement of icons in the options enough, i don´t have many icons on my desktop but i don´t remember them to have changed.
