Hi,

I worked pretty hard on my Portfolio in the last time and I want to get some Critique to make it better.

www.Maks3D.com

I'm 22 and I'm studying Game Design in the fifth Semester. I'm looking for an internship as Character Artist for the next Semester.

I hope you got some advices for me!

hey man, looking really good for the stage you're at, here's a few crits to help you hopefully improve your work:

try and work on your textures a bit more, add in some light and colour variation, if you look at your iron man texture for example, the whole sheet is essentially the same colour and brightness of red. Try and vary that up a bit, and use some textured brushes to add some subtle variation to the textures, and also some wear and damage would help too.

the proportions and pose of the bounty hunter guy are a bit weird, and look a bit unnatural and awkward. i would reccomened doing an anatomy study, get some good reference off 3d.sk (it's definately worth subscribing for a month or 2 and downloading as much reference as you can) and make a good sculpt to familialise yourself with anatomy a bit better.

i'm not sure if you did this or not, but it's very helpful to make a good, well proportioned base model as the start of your zbrush sculpt, then add all the other components on top of that.

the trousers of the bounty hunter guy look like you're getting to grips with cloth and fold sculpting, but the understanding isn't quite there yet. try and study reference for the type of material you're trying to replicate. your trousers look quite skin tight in parts, and not so tight in others, and kind of look like they're soaking wet.

the topology looks pretty good, and those blend shapes, rigging and skinning are good practice and i'm sure will do you favours when trying to apply for internships. the same texture comments as above apply here, try and add some more interesting lighting and colour into your textures

the stylised cop guy is pretty cool, again the textures could do with some work, but it's a nice character, and the style works well

anyway, hope that helps. there's no major problems with your work, just keep making more and more stuff and you'll gradually get better at everything. try and focus on your texturing the most for now, would be my advice
