Hello , I don't know how to explain the problem I am having so I am uploading a file that hopefully you guys can check and see what's wrong ...

It's a simple beast skull I was working on but all of a sudden dunno what's happened but I cant brush anymore on it like if it was masked ....

is not masked , I tought to a problem of the pc so I shut down and restarted but is not that so must be the file ...

I can brush if I zoom out but not if I zoom in , looks like I can brush in certain areas by close but not on others , really DO 'nt get what's wrong or how to fix it and I do not want to waste that work , altough not that great but still I 'd like ot see what's the problem ...

can someone help ?

thanks a lot for any answer and help ...

I've checked your file, and didn't spot any problems with sculpting. Take a look in your instance whether you have any layers applied or not (in the file you provided i haven't found any, but just in case check it out). if that wldn't help i can send you back a re-saved version of your tool in my version of zbrush, maybe that will help, tho i have my doubts about it:).

If I start a new project importing the same base mesh works all fine , but with that one not ... perhaps I pressed somethig ? I can't see anything pressed tough ...

Also another problem is that when I usually paint in mask mirror mode on a side of the face the opposite side doesn't look like is getting enough tpression and sometimes it fades out the trail I am drawing ... liek when I draw a suture manually in mirror mode and black masking the opposite side comes out washed out or not at all ...

Ok now I get the same problem again and it seems to happen when I apply to mesh the noise modifier making the whole mesh strange like some seetrought mesh border against the ones behind and unresponsive paint over .. .what's going on there?

Perhaps the source of your problem lies in a base mesh. I took a closer look on it in a 3ds Max, and found a few issues. First of all, it consists of a lot of triangles (aye, zbrush can handle them, but they cause a lousy topology), few n-gons and isolated verticies (and they're genuinely BAD). Also the mesh is not snapped to the origin of the grid (and sometimes it breeds issues with the proper symmetrical editing). You can attempt to fix your basemesh in a 3d package and then reproject details from the old1, or try this:
    1. Duplicate your "corrupted" skull subtool.
    2. Jump to the 6th subdivision level of your newly created copy, then delete all remaining subdivision levels.
    3. Go to the Geometry>Dynamesh roll-out, turn down the blur values to 0 and set the Resolution to sth around 800-1000.
    4. Now (if you're not already satisfied with the result) you can reproject the original tool details using the Project roll-out in a Subtool palette.
