LATEST UPDATE:
============================================================================================
Started a high res version of one of the characters of DOTA2. Been busy for the last while and getting back to it now. Thought I'll post it so people can give some input. I've worked a bit on it since this render, but haven't had time to update the render. Still rough WIP and missing some of the parts.
Started on the color(very rough), but not worth showing as it's more distracting at the moment than anything else.
Some of the concepts from DOTA2 below...

I think the waist came out a bit too thick and the top rim of the shoulderpiece too thin. Also the ears are a bit too small, I feel, and the upper lip seems to be almost disappearing underneath the beard in the concept. Overall he looks a bit too stout where as he should be more along the lines of small but lean.
Fantastic project, can't wait to see your progress!
Thanks...I have to agree with you there. I'll try get those changes across.
I might also lift the upper arm bands a bit higher. His hands are also still not big enough.(fingers need to be wider)
Great feedback!
Haven't got to the hands and shoulder shield yet...

c&c's welcome!
I'm wondering if perhaps the skirt seems to come across as a bit muddy in the sculpt (I realise you're probably trying to stick close to that first concept pic). Just an observation.
Also that bark on his right arm is looking great - although it could be cool to get in some of those "plank" shapes like in the concept.
Anyway - it's looking pretty badass so far ^^
Thanks for the input!
I see what you mean with the muddiness. I can try smooth some of it out. I like that they added it to the concept and want to capture some of that, but maybe a little less than I currently have and a bit more folds/cloth texture as you would expect with cloth.
The bark was looking better before, but since then I've stretched and changed some of the proportions so need to clean that up again. By "plank shapes" do you mean flatter and less organic than it is currently? At the moment it looks like a tree bark, so I can clean the edges up a bit make to it have less "roundness" overall.
But it's looking great so far, keep it up!
