Companies in Vancouver

Hello,

I'm a student at Capilano University, and one of the projects that I have is to gather a list of digital animation companies in Vancouver. Since I would like to focus on game development, I have focused mostly on gathering a list of game companies. I found the following companies through the Polycount website and the GameDevMap website. I'm not sure if any of these companies are still in Vancouver, so I was wondering if anyone in the Vancouver game industry could clarify if the following companies are still in Vancouver or not. Also, if there is a contact person that you know of that I could speak to so I can invite them to our grad show, then please send me a PM with their contact information. I really appreciate the help.

Heard about Radical Entertainment shutting down back in the summer, or maybe they were just downsized. Might want to check into that.

As a Game-Art forum, it would be nice to see some sort of implementation for keeping track of would-be employers.

deep fried and threewave are gone. think i remember hearing rabbit hole was done as well.

There have been alot of closures in the past 5 years, so it's hard to tell. There is still EA Burnaby - EA Blackbox.

However Film and TV VFX houses are doing fine and/or growing

That's a big old yeah

Jet Black's been gone for a while, and I think a few others there are too, or at least not doing so well.

Thank you everyone for your help. I have the information currently in a Google doc, so if the companies don't mind me posting their address, I could open up the Google doc to everyone.

ScudzAlmighty: Could you clarify which other companies you suspect are gone or not doing well? I would like to investigate those companies a bit more to make sure that the document is up to date.

ProperSquid: I really don't know anything specific, just a rumour or two, that doesn't need further spreading. Especially here.

I think it's just a case of not updating that page on their site. I've got a bunch of friends that were let go from there at the time. It was scaled back for a while, but it doesn't show up on F9E studio's site anymore.
