3ds Max problem - Verts showing through Mesh

So the title pretty much sums it up, i can see all the verts through the other side of my mesh, really distracting. Has anyone else had this problem before or know how to fix it???

This happens to me when i have nitrous on.... have no idea why and i have not found way to fix it. I am running an older video card as of now ATI hd 4850 so that might be the problem for me.

@disanski yeah i thought that might be the case since i've had similar vert issues with nitrous in the past. The only problem is when i change back to direct x the verts are completely gone! i guess i have to decide whether i want all verts or none..
