So I've been tasked with putting together the credits for the game I've been working on. (not making the list, just figuring out how it's going to be displayed - can't do it in the normal end-of-game scrolling fashion.)
The problem is I have no idea what my title should be.
Officially I'm employed as a "graphic artist" (not graphic designer, mind you)
..but I don't like that title. Makes me sound like a brochure designer, but the whole hiring process was a little...odd around here, so that's what i got tagged as.
(mostly)What i've done:
graphic design for web (a little)
UI design
environment modelling
character modelling
texturing. lots of texturing
rigging
animation
level design (sort of)
illustration/concepts
a tiny bit of coding and/or integration (not sure if that's the correct term...working w/ programmers to get the assets functional and into the game engine)
comminications with outsourcers
outsourced asset tweaking and/or integration
short list:
i'm the only artist directly working on the game.
my CO calls me lead artist. I'm not too keen on listing myself as such as i don't actually lead anybody but myself. that and kick programmers around.
but I've yet to settle on a title that's broad enough without being vague or inaccurate.
meh...
Multi-dimensional game artist. I just made that up. just now.

I suggest "Art-Meister YOLO/SWAG" as header.
Sarcasm aside, above posts all sound good,
Don't deny it, because it's the truth, and you know it.
I'd go for that.
and then have a chat with your lead about being "promoted". will look better on your CV with a heavier title..+ might include a raise.
i'm pretty sure this is a joke about my manhood. how dare you.
principle artist sounds good. i don't feel i've earned the title "lead" but for some reason principle doesn't bother me as much.
also: it makes me sound more awesome. and that's good, because i'm pretty much awesome. all the time.
2. Promote yourself as an expert at that postion.
3. ??????? (presumably art)
4. Profit
i reject that on principle.
This is a great idea. Find a job you really want and call yourself whatever they are looking for.
then I can carry a gun. And make all them silly programmers salute to me. sounds like a good day.
