So I'm doing a tribute to a book I used to read as a kid. One of the more obscure Dr. Seuss books out there.

This is the book cover:

and this is the link to the turntable I have right now:

C&C on what I have so far is greatly appreciated!! :)

you're using too many polygons in places where they're not needed, and not in places that they are. for example the ball's line has too many while the roof too few. the windows should follow the curvature of the ball. polygons beneath the house are not needed so you can get rid of them. also try when capping cylinders to use quads, it's less cluttery and generally better. are you gonna make the whole environment and characters?

Ok so I tried to hit the main points you made about the model:

    http://p3d.in/lDMWv/wireonsmooth+spin

1)Took out the polys on the bottom base part. Originally it was actually just a single face that must've gotten converted to tris when I exported it.

2)Smoothed out the roof and removed the unnecessary polys on the ball line.

3)Tried to make the windows follow the curvature of the ball more but idk, might need some tips on that.

    4) I will eventually get the environment. Without giving my entire life's story, I'm a fine arts major (drawing, painting) who finally gave into making games this past spring, after going back and forth my entire life. So in short, it's finals week and I have a medieval art history paper to finish haha

Thanks again for the reply!! Great tips!

there is much improvement. however your ball has lost its shape. it's a tennis ball so it should be perfectly round. try bringin it back to shape by using a reference of another sphere (or if you are using max, spherify modifier is just for this kind of jobs :P)
