Hi All! So, I am a beginner learning high poly modeling in Mudbox. If you look at this pic you will see some details on my low poly model that I brought into mudbox:

The issue I am concerned about is the hard edges that are softened in Mubox.
Now I discovered that (fairly obviously) adding supporting "rings" near to hard edges helped preserve them when the mesh is imported into Mudbox, like this:

These extra polgon reenforcement rings serve no purpose on my low poly model except for improving things in mudbox, so my question is simply this... Given that I added the rings
after the unwrap was made and that I didn't manually manipulate the verticies in any way, will the baked details from Mudbox still work ok on my
original low poly model (before the extra rings were added) even though that isn't the version I imported and edited iin Mudbox?
I can't see any reason why this should be a problem, but before I spend hours sculpting my mesh I'd like to be sure...
Thanks

Mudbox has a 'Transfer Details' option, and a 'Transfer Paint Layers' option. These features allow you to make changes to meshes and texture layers even though you may have already done quite a bit work.
I am using 2013 so I did find the transfer details option in the menus, thats a really useful thing to know... I'll play around with it when I have sculpted some more.
One last little thing; is it possible to change the zoom increment in mudbox like you can in max?
