I just started this character. The concept is based off something a friend came up with. I decided to go in and redesign it a bit. Hopefully I can get a nice portfolio piece out of it. All comments and critiques are welcome.
Ohhh, this is looking funky, nice work!
Not really much to crit at the moment it all seems pretty spot on and I love the design anyway...so just carry on and I'm sure it'll turn out brilliantly.
yeah this is got a really good ribe to it. Great progress to you and your pal. Only question I've got is whats going to happen with the scythe? How about adding some hours glasses, etc?
@Daft.Eng: Thanks, hopefully I can keep the funky vibe going with the rest of it
@Di$array: Good point. I'll think of something for the scythe. As for things like hourglasses i could have them hanging down like the coins on his side or something along those lines. I do like the idea of putting time in there somewhere. Thanks.
@rockguy: I was going to do something like a really dark purple incense like smoke. Just have to figure out how to do particles for something like that.
i get this tim burton vibe from the ...feet? and that really got my attention, i may be wrong in related it to that sort of style but regardless it definitely got my interest : )
I love the design so far, but something about the face isn't working for me, I think it's the eye sockets, they look a bit too angressive or angry for a floating grave keeper like guy. Also the teeth might look better as seperate meshes, they look really sculpted in.
Did you want this character to be gargantuan, considering the size of the grave signs and crucifixes on the back? I'd imagine, and feel free to say anything anybody, there might be some things to do to emphasize size with something like this, if the 'gargantuan' size is the intention.
Hmm . . . golly I honestly don't know what to critique, though I'm sort of assuming you'll give it a pose later and somehow make it asymmetrical?
Added a dirt surface for the gravestones as well as the "moon". Also changed the mask a little. He was looking a bit on the mean side so I took the brows out.
