Well ive been modeling for about half a year and i thought it would be good for me to post a model ive just started.
I dont like modeling army guns.. I prefer modeling si-fi weapons etc. The main reason im modeling this scar h is because it looks ok and doesnt have that many complicated parts.
So far ive finished the blockout and started on the high poly.:)
Im using max 2010 but I think im ging to download max 2013 again :P
This is what i've got so far:

the biggest concern i have at the moment is how tight your edges are, most of them wont transfer well when you bake
I downloaded max 13 last night
sorry about the scr h
maybe this helps ?:P

I think it had something to do with the max i was using (2013) but now im using max 11. Its working fine atm so hope it stays that way.
Terry1337: Thanks for the link. Theres awesome stuff in there.
Like i say. I'm now doing a si-fi smg. The blockouts looking awesome but I'll post pictures of the high poly tonight or tomorow. Just when i've got time as im still at academy, which doesnt give me as much time to model. I seem to have a never ending supply of homework. :P
cheers for posting and hope you all follow my smg
-Make sure to sometimes use the incremental save, don't keep saving on the same file
-Get a dropbox account, and everytime you stop working for the day, throw the latest max file on your dropbox.
Maybe obvious, but just mentioning, it really saves a lot of headaches.
Looking forward to the SMG, have seen the concept a lot, and people talking about doing it, but never actually seen anyone complete it (or I missed it)
Cheers.
