Hello
I have been modeling high poly models, and this is my first low poly modeling. I have made the same thread on different forum, but I think this website gets more replies and advice. My purpose making this character is to understand and study low poly game modeling.
All though I am not a fan of sculpting details, and go for realistic, I think this is a good project for me to study game modeling.
I am finding difficulties on baking and textuering for game characters, and now I know how hard is to create good game models.
The general is about 8500 polys and the horse is about 5000. Currently I applied spec, diffuse, normal, and bump maps on blin shader in Maya.
I need to tweak and add textures.
Any advice from experts or more experienced game modelers, would be great.
Thank you.

Thank you.
At least that's why I do it.
Because they are taking the screens in a game engine which triangulates everything, or marmoset which does the same. You should post untriangulated if you can as well in portfolio ( not counting optimisation triangulation you do or other things)from your 3d app of choice.
Is 8500 poly on one character considered low poly?
I know next gen game character model is around 12000 polys?
This is 3 points light setup that I tried to make for the model.
Is this better than the first images that I posted?
Thank you.
Please give me some critiques and advice.
Thank you.
