The  successful candidate will be responsible for producing graphics in a  project and will act as the main link between the Art department and the  Art Director at the Montreal studio for an FPS (first-person shooter)  project for iOS.
Responsibilities:
The main tasks of this position include:
- Defining the game art style while respecting the initial creative      direction.
 
- Conveying expectations in terms of quality and content  (settings,      environments, characters) to the graphics team (concept  artists,      environment artists, character model artists) using  relevant visual      references
 
- Setting high quality standards.
 
- Monitoring and approving work done by the graphics team so  that the      elements produced respect the vision of the game and meet  quality      standards.
 
- Planning production in collaboration with the environment,      character and concept team leads.
 
- Creating benchmark to define the expected level of  graphical      quality in the game in collaboration with the lead game  designer and the      lead level designer (technical limitations,  scales, narrative content,      compositions, gameplay).
 
- Monitoring the integration of graphical data in the engine  with the      programmers and the Technical Graphics Director and  defining new elements      that are needed.
 
- Reporting to the project manager and the studio art director.
 
Relevant Experience:- 3  to 5 years’ experience in real-time 3D (Senior Level Artist, Lead       Artist, Assistant Art Director, etc.) on a high-profile console/PC       project.
 
- Expertise in the technical capabilities of the main engines on the      market. Knowledge of iOS platforms is an asset.
 
- Very good technical skills (organic modeling, hard surface,      texturing, lighting, optimization)
 
- Very good sense of proportions, volumes and lighting.
 
- Expertise in 2D/3D graphic production tools (3DSMax, Maya,       Photoshop, etc.). Knowledge of a rendering engine (V-Ray, mental  ray) is      an asset.
 
- Able to adapt to new management/data tracking systems (SVN      Tortoise, Perforce, etc.).
