Hi guys. I need some advice from you all if you would.

I'm currently left on a budget of 150 to 250 euro and looking for a tablet. Now i read stuff about the monoprice tablets on here and looked for them on the net but they don't seem to ship to my country (netherlands). The only other brand i know is wacom, so i would love your advice on this. Should i just look for a 2nd hand wacom like the intuos3 A4 size, or do you know any other brands that i can get from here that have good quality.

It's for work on concept art and digital drawing, to work with mudbox/zbrush.
I do prefer the larger sizes because of the 1:1 movement but with my new 24inch i know that's not really possible. Though i have no experience with the small stuff like the bamboo for example because i always felt that the difference in tablet size to screen size was to big but maybe that's just me.

I'd love your advice and input on this. Looking forward to reading the responses.

When there are that many exclamation marks, you know he means business.

Also wacom all the way, not sure what you can get for the amount of euros you have and i cba converting it to £ (:D) but it should be plenty for a pretty good wacom.

Haha well yeah using a mouse for things like zbrush just doesn't suit me and i used to have an old trust tablet (yeah cheapo dinky toy but for then it was enough) and i know that i just love to work on a tablet. As far as 3nd hand go in my own country the best i can get that i can find right now is the intuos3 a4 or the intuos3 special edition. i think it's also the a4 but with the airbrush in the pack. don't know about ebay yet but this is a small country with not that many options in this area.

Go for intuos3, it's rock solid. Also ebay sellers can often ship anywhere - I remember getting an used intuos2 (!) shipped to the NL from the UK back when I was there a few years back. It's thin stuff, it fits in an enveloppe just fine.

Ah great. I found one (intuos3 a4 special edition) on the marketplace here (like a dutch craigslist) that's being asked 175 for. Just asked him for some pictures to see if it's not in a state where it's hold together with tape haha.

Are there any things i should really look for. Like things that really matter if they are damaged or not (aside from the work area ofcourse)?

Well I would suppose that if it doesn't work as intended you can always give it back ? Anyways, intuos3s are really good I think. Barebones, but that's what's good about them.

    Good luck on your hunt!

hmm wel it's not from a company so as far as i know if i paid for it and it's not working i can pray to get my money back haha. He's to far away to pick it up and test before buying or i would have done that. And barebone is good. I have a wireless keyboard here so i'll just hotkey that for whatever i need if i don't like the buttons on the wacom.

thanks i'll need it haha :)

Ah guys i found a wacom intuos4 M widescreen on sale at a store here for 170euro. Now considering that the "normal" price is around 300 that's a good offer. I'm used to working on a A4 size tablet. How's this size to work on (model on a 24inch screen) ??

Hi guys. Heck i thought this was already burried haha. Anyways i couldn't get the monoprice here and my buds in the us aren't there atm (military). But it seems that i get that intuos4 m for xmass from my stephdad haha. Yeah i'm spoiled. But still thanks for the replies and tips.

@Deras i didn't test the wacom yet but considering it's sooo much better then that dinky toy one i had i'm sure it's going to be amazing to work with it and on it. Just have to keep in mind the ration tablet to screen size but you get used to that in no time. That i know from drawing at least can't imagine it being different in zbrush
