Hi there!
First thread on the PC forum, and also my first serious project.
I'm making a pistol based on the Rapier 9mm (a movie prop from 'Romeo and Juliet' by Baz Luhrmann).
First of all the high poly model, and the low poly. Lot of details will go into the normal map.
The low poly has a tris count of arround 2100.

I'm not that convinced of the shiny metal, but maybe I change it later. Now I'm working on something different.
btw: does anyone know how to get rid of the problem with anti-aliasing in viewport grabs?
A quick one: take a screen grab twice the size you actually want it and reduce it by half.
You're modeling isn't too bad at all, but the texturing and mateial definition needs work. Try and capture some of the grunge you see in this photo of the weapon and I think the piece would be a lit nicer than a clean gun.
