Are you just looking on how to load an HLSL file in Maya ? Because the values and general usage of the shader should be the same as older videos for Max.
1. do you got the hlsl plugin enabled in maya.
2. create a hlsl shader, in hyperShade.
3.apply shader to object
4. make sure you got lights in the scene, and that you linked them to the light slots in the shader.
Hmf, feel so stupid but i'll probebly need a walkthrough. this is what i do.
I've created a simple mesh
1. mesh
2. create point light (2 of them)
3. I make my hlsl shader and apply xoliulshader onto it.
4. This is where it gets weird, i try to connect the light to the shader. nothing happens.
Im using the normal viewport not the 2.0, i've also turned on the Hardware texture. Shadows are on, but i think i am doing something wrong. Wish there where a tutorial a more indepth tutorial. Cause i seem to f*ck it up
