Hey everyone.
So I realised the other day that I need to get better at sculpting from a concept. This thread will document my adventures. I really hope this exercise will help me improve as an artist.
Wish me luck and HERE WE GO.
LATEST SCULPT
A bit more fun on this guy. The neck is looking a bit flat at the moment, and the damage in general needs a bit of work but I may or may not continue with him depending on my next idea.......or lack of idea.
.......NEXT!.......

I like what I ended up with, but I think I have put too much of my own personality into this guy to call it a success.

can't wait to see what you're going to cook up next
Sorry it has been a while since my last post I have been without internet for a while now and tonight I am fortunate enough to be able to steal some off a mate.
Thanks for all the kind words:
This one took a really long time and I count it as a fail but it is worth documenting anyway. Man it is sooooo hard to sculpt so... ahh little. With nothing to hide behind all your mistakes bubble up to the surface. Either way Karl Pilkington is here.
This one is by AWESOME artist Ryan Hall aka frogbillgo (http://frogbillgo.deviantart.com/)
Thanks again everyone. more soon.
yeah i can imagine tha tkarls perfectly round head would cause some trouble to get right with the subtle formchanges, looks great though
also really like the colors on that last one
Latest fail from me.
Concept by Simon Eckert. Such an amazing artist.

This one took way too long. I wish I could have done him justice
Thanks again everyone.
@ afisher : haha thanks dude. A time-lapse vid is pretty hard for me at the moment because I usually only have short periods of time to work on these, seriously like 15- 20 mins one day, then maybe an hour or two, then 10 mins it drives me nuts..... then there is the whole internet issue. I seriously need to just organise it. Work is pretty relaxed with me uploading stuff but videos might be stretching that rubber band a little too far. I hope the new year will bring the internet to my place, and then ohhhhh how the videos will roll in..... If I can remember how to record them :poly142: Thanks again Mr.
@ Funky Bunnies : hehe thanks Mr bunnies
Thanks again everyone. Just trying to decide on my next adventure. see you all soon.
@ JadeEyePanda : haha don't ask me, My hair sucks ass, but sometimes the gods smile on me and it turns out ok. The only thing I can say is practice.
@ indiePub : Thanks.
Latest from me. Perhaps Santa will bring me some sorely needed life drawing classes, but either way as usual I polished this turd as hard as I could.....and when that didn't work I just rolled it in glitter.

Latest poot.
Decided to go a bit further than just a sculpt this time. There are a few areas I am not 100% happy with but meh.... I am sick of looking at his regular face.
here is a "QUICK" Costume change WIP...... I have been reading "World War Z"
Thanks again everyone.... roll on 2013
@ chrisradsby : Thanks
@ JR : But chromatic aberration is the new lens flare. :poly124:
@ pior : haha Thanks dude
