Valve has contacted us and asked if we could extend the contest for an addition two weeks because, "we're really impressed and excited by the work coming out of the contest." We said, "Pfft.. yeah, sure we guess we could."
No wait - we said, "HELL YEAH." If the reason they're looking to extend this contest is because of quality and not a lame technical issue who are we to argue?
So, there you have it - new dates!
New submission date:
December 3rd 2012 @ 11:59 EST
Winners announcement:
December 20th, 2012

LOL Anux!
Anuxinamoon, lol do it!
this is interesting news. I am a bit curious as to the benefit of the poly-count contest compared with only submitting items to the workshop. What is the "bonus" of the contest? Outside of a Dec. 3 announcement (which i was counting as the prize =p), which has now been delayed, what is going on here that is different than a normal submission?
I do understand poly count gets a paycheck per each item, so is this just for poly count, and we are being dragged along?
These questions have been nagging at me, and this announcement chops into what i was considering the prize, the timeline.
EDIT* I am asking these questions in hope i missed something, don't kill the messenger.
Yeah you missed the prizes section,
So if you place you are guaranteed acceptance to the store and the extra rarity item.
The way I figure it is that valve will release all the winners in a bundle package for sale. Making it more likely your item will get purchased if it is bundled with 9 other awesome sets. Therefore, you would make more money this way than by yourself.
Offcourse there will be more Entry's because of this, but on the other hand you can also work longer on your project to perfect everything
LOL now we're out of the game. Thanks a lot Valve. You should expand the number of winners or give higher prizes to make it fair now :poly142:
Seriously, I think that's a good thing. I will try hard to still finish my set until 19th and will start another one after that.
u vavle!
For the first time, I ain't even mad :D

And boy did I need this break, thank you valve!
