Holy Shit.. This Game.. Guys.. This Game.

So I heard about the original version of this game on Retronauts a long time ago. If you aren't familiar.. The game's upbringing is sort of like Cave Story, it was released as a PC freeWare in japan as an homage to retro games, more specifically MSX games and is known for it's intense..but fair difficulty.

The game in many many ways is like a Cross between Indiana Jones, Metroid, and Demons Souls. I say Demons Souls because you cannot trust absolutely anything with this game. There are traps, jukes, and hilarious deaths in this game. The same way I smile from a ridiculous trap in Demons Souls..is the same way I smile when a clever puzzle/trap ends up killing me because I wasn't paying attention. I reaaaally recommend it to any of my Retro loving Polycounters..or any of my Demon/Dark Souls fanatics. This game really does fill the void until I wait for the next sequel.

Also it's on Steam's Greenlight! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93001822

I am not joking when I am talking about how difficult this game is. The original Freeware version apparently is even more insane and crushing, and they made it a bit more user friendly for the WiiWare release. In the Wii version.. you have more than just one save point, and you get a little bit of instructions every now and then to help you. But some of these puzzles are so mind bending after a bit I cave and have to look up a faq. The world is absolutely enormous and it's crazy how much detail and effort the devs put into it.

Does it have any obscure-puzzle elements a la Castlevania 2, where you need to crouch infront of a rock-wall for 30 seconds before progressing, without hint about it, or it like Portal?

It's like.....Indiana Jones. There are these "Tablets" around the world that give you clues and vague hints. And if you think hard enough you can figure it out. It's one of the best feelings when you finally figure out this puzzle because you feel like...well.. Indiana Jones. Or some sort of bad ass. And who doesn't want to be Indiana Jones? He gets all the babes.
