I do love me some mechs! Yeah the one with the cannon is my favourite too! What size maps do they have? Some of the texture looks a tiny bit low res, for example on the leg of the second mech.
That Artillery/Mortar mech looks awesome. My personal input would that if it's shooting such a large projectile at lower angle, shouldn't it lean more forward? Or maybe dig it's legs in a deploy a front kickstand type of thing to prop itself up but use the massive legs to absorb the recoil.
@SaferDan : Yeah I totally agree with you about some of the texture resolutions, funily enough all the mechs share the same assets for the legs just with a diffuse swaps so there's not really any excuse, I think the reason the heavy/motor mech looks higher res is just because it was the last one I did so by that time I had the workflow down. I'd like to redo the earlier mechs tbh but was caught in a pretty strict deadline for them:(
@Hang10: The animators on the project did an awesome job of this guy. When he's moving around the cannon kind of deploys into itself and angles down, then when he's firing it kind of braces itself on its legs, I'm in the process of trying to import the animations into marmoset and i'll try and upload a short anim for it.
