Hey guys! I've been lurking on the forum for some time and thought it's time I start posting some of my work.

I'm Ed, student at University of Derby studying Computer Games Modelling and Animation, I'll be updating this sketchbook with uni and personal work. Crits and feedback are welcome!

Here's some of the stuff I've done over the past year and a half (oldest to latest):

Another few hour painting study. Tried to not color pick from the reference and also paint something a bit more stylized

University project where we had to design and create a race track for a mobile game, I did a lot of the modelling and texturing. Everything is using a simple unlit shader plus some vertex colors, so no real time lights and normal/spec/emissive etc maps.

I'm not too happy with it though, I think I could have done a better job.

Signed up for Noah Bradley's 12 week art camp (http://www.noahbradley.com/artcamp/) Can't wait! Will hopefully improve my art and will be able to update this sketchbook more frequently through out the summer

Really like the new painting ed_3D. I think my favorite part is the lighting! No speed paint video for it though? Good luck with Noah's class I cant wait to see what your produce from it. Keep up the awesome work!

Thank you! Nope I decided not to do a time lapse video for that one, I was experimenting a lot and I painted it after a loooong break

Noah's class is up and running now. This week we are studying old masters paintings, we were assigned to do 50 composition/value studies, 50 color studies and 3 full paintings.

Here's what I've got so far, still trying to get used to doing them and I seem to have a really bad habbit of getting into tiny detail even when zoomed out lol. Having lots of fun though!

Thanks We have a week to do the assignment, they're meant to be like fairly quick thumbs though, I'm just not used to doing them yet so I'm spending a bit too long on each one

Woah, awesome. You really nailed all those earlier portrait studies. Really nice.

Oh and I think it's really great you're sharing those timelapse videos with us. It's always cool with artist's show their process.
