Final update!Steam Collection - Scholar's Sentimentold progress from here
Hi people!
I'll be doing a set for Templar Assassin, as she seems to lack of good choice of items.
Well, story time! (insert your fav retrospection theme)
"After so many years spent on fighting the enemy, Lanaya still returns to her most useful
equipment she ever had. Being blessed with longevity has it's benefits, but as time
went by, her old outfit began to rip and rot. Now, even though most of her old suit is only a remnant of the better days, she still wears it to recall the times, when she used to meet less people studying in the dark shadows of many libraries…"

[ Scholar's Hood ] Being torn so many times, it is held now only by remnant magic
of countless secret rituals Lanaya has performed. While in pieces,
it still keeps the head warm during cold nights and gives protection
from losing sight she may suffer after exiting the shadows "
And a thing to damn: The limits made by static boots and armour make thing a bit more complicated
P.S. Is anybody alive here?
the siluete , hood , armor make TA looks more Assassin style
the down side is she not looks like preety girl anymore:)
instead create pocket on her belt i think you can try attach some knife/dagger on her belt
i prefer default face mask (black colour without golden line)
you're right about the pocket, it would be hard to see in the game.
As for the mask, I was going for a reinforced look, but instead of gold plated metal,
I was hoping to use the 'golden thread'. Like embroidery
I'm hoping for a good glow from the vials
Update is coming
as always: click for bigger
right now don't meet the tris limit, but I'm almost done with base
I also decided to change the glove to the (how do I call this thing) one
it looks better and is lighter
Yet no sculpt, still over limit.
After i bake the normals, the belt'll lose extra bevel.
Also I think I'll move the "tie" to the shoulder area (will it be ok?)
[shot hipoly]
(doesn't the original sleeve have no insides?)
I was just following the original one :P
it's still missing the left shoulder pad
and hooray for 2 extra weeks
EDIT: Pad came
But cowl is ready and i have managed to prevent the nasty clipping of shoulder pads
finally UV-unwrapped
I'm still trying out the sculpting styles and the detail balance.
more to come SOON
and rigging - it will be the easiest part
sculpted, baked and lopoly.
Now I'm rereading the Dota 2 Texturing and Shader manuals… Why Valve, why it has to be so complicated…
["Coz we like the perfection"]
…
More power to you!
Decide:
or
(well, I'm trying to get the gold right )
the normal map of ponytail is subtle, so i don't know if it's easy to see the effect
still not done
I'm tweaking the belt and hair (the tip of ponytail is damn awful)
got it on the first run
shaders'll be done tomorrow
there are some rig issues and none of mask2. is complete, so Yay for mad spec!
I have finished the armour and fixed the shader, added some glow to the vials, just for fun
(on second pic there are boots colliding with a part, fixed)
The hood is almost done, one of the ponytail bones is behaving though. And violet hair on tip of ponytail is missing. To do.
And something new, without both masks textures, rust and bigger symbol a shoulder cape-pad. Bad Bones Too
so, many thanks Valve, for your exporter for Blender, ability to use nodes surely helps a lot
here: http://i.imgur.com/Ow6Eb.png is the node setup i used to split the original textures, just to understand (the pdf doesn't help that much)
Your design works well.
No, I tried, but found that making layer groups and using subtraction blend mode was way easier. I used nodes just to make sure i get the shader right.
There are lil' rig problems easy to fix in the shoulders mesh, also the pad is too shiny.
