Hi everyone!! one more time, i want to share what i have working for the last week...your opinion have a gold value so feel free to comment with sincerity..!
Well, for one, I would say be sure to use reference; whether a real hammer, or a rockin' piece of concept art. And be careful with material definition. The metal hammerhead, for instance, is very noisy and doesn't feel so much like metal. It should rely more, I'd say, on Specular value, rather than bump/normal maps.
Good job finishing it though. I feel like finishing work is one of the hardest things with art.
Keep it up, and post often!
It's looking better. But honestly I would remove the bump on all of the metal pieces entirely. It just makes it read as concrete instead of metal. Don't worry I used to do the same thing with my metal pieces. :P Are you using a specular map? If so can you post it?
I would suggest you spend a little more time with pedestal(adding more detail) if you like to keep that shape. or just make it simple. right now it's very distracting.
