Got frustrated with PA set not turning out so well so I'm going to do Skeleton king!! My second favorite hero!!! This is my concept so far, going to upload some hipoly and stuff later on when I'm not so sleepy
edit: OMG I typo'd my damn thread... is there a way to change it? Ugh....
Oh, that man looks Great, But why not phantom asassin( you did a lot of job and I think it should be completed. Anyway - it is your choice and I will be eagerly waiting for your progress on that big guy)
Looks like a great concept. The abundance of gold is a novelty and a boon. I would maintain a bit of red highlights in key places for a more menacing look. Additionally, It seems that his cape is replaced by a second shoulder guard; this looks good but without the cape he is missing a critical piece of his back armour. If you continued to have some sort of armoured wrap around or a golden/metal/whatever cape, then the concept would be complete. As is, it reminds me of Megatron - which is awesome.
I'm glad I could be helpful at all! THe model looks outstanding now. The twin pauldrons makes this set from the base model and is starkly unique among the other Skeleton King contest entries.
Just keep in mind the cape has high visibility and really defines almost half his model. I can't wait to see the textures for the cape and the rest of the model.
I'm also highly curious about what your final ideas are for his broadsword and the contrast potential there.
Usually, in BBcode, you can go click "Go Advanced" after initiating the editing of the first post and change the Title and Description of the Thread as stated in the forum listings. I hope that works!
@phazeddl many thanks! I hope to have your continued support even after I upload the remaining pieces!! Also you're right, dota doesn't support double sided materials. From what I see it looks like valve just stuck 2 capes together and inverted the faces of the other one, think it might be that? Just a wild guess though
the sword looks really good, you should think about enhancing the normalmap though, as right now it doesnt show up too much in the image, just duplicate it and set it to overlay and you should see alot more of it ingame

Low poly mesh for armor done, sword is done too, will post later, as soon as I get all my high poly done
@Strange I totally agree! So I managed to manage my poly budget and keep the cape!

Cheers! Keep it up and strong!
Also, that new should definitely seals the deal; fantastic and unique silhouette that continues the symmetry of the armor set.
Bravo. Looks like this is finally coming full circle - and what a glorious circle it is! Only thing left to see is the helm and the cape.
Also for anyone else reading, do you guys know how valve made SK's cape double sided?
I am not sure, as i think i've read dota 2 engine doesn't support double sided materials (might be wrong).
Btw, this concept of SK is my favourite so far, awesome helmet and shoulders!
