Hey Guys,

I've been dreaming of a portable PC that I can do Photoshop, Maya, Zbrush, etc on from anywhere, like say my bed, for quite a while and it seems like some new models will be coming out soon. Machines like the Samsung Slate 7 have proven their worth but not having a keyboard will be an issue.

In all reality, a wifi keyboard will do the trick but after seeing this android/iphone app called Mobile Mouse I started thinking I might be able to just use my phone to fill this void. http://mobilemouse.com/

Has anyone out there tried this combination of mobile app and tablet for 3D?

Cheers,

I use mobile mouse in my iPhone to control my living room computer from the couch and sometimes my desktop when I'm too lazy to move...

Never tried it in a productive situation, but it works really well in my situations,
The typing is quick, not too much lag and works like a real keyboard with all system keys (Carl, alt, cmd for OSx.,,).

I've tried the app as well to control my laptop in bed when i want to play games and the touch pad mouse just doesn't do the trick.

I would have to say it is a pretty decent app.
I have a series 7 slate also, using ArtDock (http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/samsung/47958-artdock-samsung-series-7-slate.html) photoshop and zbrush are amazing to work with. 3ds max on the other hand no so useful on the slate without a keyboard and mouse.

I haven't tried the app with max on the slate yet, but thinking about it i think it will improve its functionality ten folds, i'll be defiantly trying this later on.

I've played around with it on my desktop PC and am amazed at the response time. I popped open Photoshop to see if I could draw something and that was clearly not gonna work. There was a heavy delay on double-tap that made every line jump.

I'll probably have to settle with a wifi keyboard, which really wont be too bad. As I type this I'm wondering if there is a portable numeric keypad that can have it's keys mapped to custom buttons. I'd really like to find a solution that didn't involve a full keyboard.

    Thanks guys!
