Hey guys, working on one of those websites everyone has, to use for job hunting and was wondering if you can shed some feedback on how to construct the thing. Every one I asked so far had conflicting opinions starting with "The person you asked before me had no idea what he's talking about" So unable to get any useful intel off of those guys, I came here.
Here's the site

I'm wondering about where should I put the CV link, is it ok just as it is?
Should the thumbnail images be smaller in any way? And do I need any shiny web-page-y stuff?
Thanks for any time spent!

I would remove the random assortment of projects. Also, what is meant by 'older generation projects'?
For your Resume, I would remove the 'Qualities' section as well as personal information such as your birthday and maybe even the languages you speak because it kinda just looks like filler. Don't rate your level of knowledge for software - only put the ones you are really proficient at. Avoid vague or loaded phrases such as "Several large scale colaborations that later became highly popular". Also, spell check!! x] This is your professional site.
Good luck on the job hunt!
EDIT: A fun, personal manner is okay, but for blogs, not for portfolios! :]
Oh, with 'older generation projects' I mean projects on older engines that didn't had fancy effects yet, is it a good title?
As for your other question, I don't think I've seen anyone categorize their work that way before . . . I would really just take out old work xD Put your best and newest stuff only!
And yeah might remove some then, and/or just mix some with the other ones in one slide.

Edit: Sorry for the double post, is that ok to do?
A couple things still bothersome on your resume - move your languages up to the top with the rest of your personal information. Right now it's breaking up your Experience and 'Software' Knowledge, which is jarring. Also, don't bullet titles like Experience or Software Knowledge - either separate them with a space, bold them, underline them, or whatever - but don't lump them in with the rest of the info. You wanna make your resume easy to read and understand!
Your name up top should be a link to your homepage.
Get rid of the text boxes at the top.
Not required but just an idea. I think it would explain more about how you work and think, it's one thing to tell someone but another to show them. I don't see a problem with having your personality in your portfolio just make sure you're telling potential employers everything they might want to know about your work concisely. The more efficient the better if I'm not reading something you want me to know then what purpose does it have.
Also on your resume you can drop the "Various other programs to aid me" and "and so on." Just list all programs you're familiar with and comfortable using.
Jessica has been giving you some solid advice. Just keep up the good work i think your layout and thumbnails are good. Just need some more detail about what exactly you did. Be specific show it if you can, don't just say i have created everything you see.
Edit: Contemplating the ninja-ed posts by Lroy and Wilex
Edit2: Lroy; yes those are good ideas, but dunno about getting rid of the text boxes, I'm still just not sure if I want to totally cut all text from the page...
Wilex;..that's one haystack of advice there, I actually thought of adding some wire frames and textures, but I tried to look for other environment portfolios and most of them didn't had technical details, so I decided to go with it too, dunno how good of an idea that was . "Various" dropped , and thanks for the inspirational words you all!
And similar with resume; if someone is checking resume, he probably knows what it is too.
But i may be wrong.
And i do agree, some technical details would be usefull too.
Not sure about that one.
I personally don't need to see 10 or 20 images of an environmental to see if someone knows their stuff. You only need 1 or 2 beauty shots per scene... and choose the most interesting ones. Followed with wire frames and textures maps.
I can't comment on anything else because I could NOT see a CV or resume? I looked at your site, still don't know your name (that's important), have no idea what your looking to do, what you have done or how to contact you.
