First time posting onto polycount(i think)
For university the assigment/project is to re-deesign a character from a fighting game. I chose ryu hayabusa from the dead or alive fighting series
the first 3 weeks were on the concept.
Here it is with everything, without cape, without sword
From this i created a simple base mesh as shown below
currently i'm more or less at this stage though i am working on the back, face and hands during the creation of this post
in order to create the armor/plating i'm thinking of using the ryan kingslien hard surface sculpting method, though all opinions and potential workflow , i do want to hear.

update:
the armour is mostly there, the legging/ strange power riser boot things got changed cause the shape I made in the concept art just wasn't working for me, need to work out a few kinks in the boots though. considering deadlines(uni work) should probably get onto retopologizing.
any input and opinions welcome, also if anyone has any preference of retopologizing tools and why that is that'd be cool
