I really like Tidehunter's character, but I think instead of scavenging for his weapons and gear he should be given a gift from his god who lies dead and dreaming beneath the sea to destroy those who live above the waters.

It's a quicky concept, but I'd love to take this in a very Dagon-y, Cthulhu-y, Lovecraftian direction.

He's listed there because those are the requirements for the workshop entries. You can submit almost anything to workshop.

Hmm, that's a bit confusing. What about Slardar? He's another "from the deep" character. Are there any others that would be more appropriate?

It's really not confusing at all. There's a list of heroes for the contest and a list of all the heroes you can make things for the workshop.

I'm 98% sure the heroes that are not on the list is because they have a ton of items already on the Dota store for them.
