Modular Panels in 3ds Max

I've built single panels and 90 degree corners (inside and out) at 10x30m for Unity3d. However nothing is able to snap when using 45 degrees? Has anyone else had this issue or knows a workaround?

For example make a plane 64x128 then shift+rotate 45 degrees and see if you can get them to lineup on the grid. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Well, the diagonal cutting through a square is longer then it's respective sides, so ...

edit: sorry, might come across harsh and i realized you might be having problems with your pivot or something?

Set your pivot point to a bottom corner. :)

To do this, go to the Hierarchy Tab in your Command panel, then press Affect Pivot Only. Turn on your snaps and adjust it so that you have pivot and grid turned on. Now snap your pivot to the bottom corner or your mesh. Turn off Affect Pivot Only.

When you export, place your objects pivot at 0,0,0 in the scene and reset Xform so that the engine can read your pivot properly :)
