[DotA 2] - Riki - Outlaw Enforcer

On the run, tirelessly pursued by authorities as well as his enemies, Riki must take every measure to ensure that he is able to evade and eliminate all who stand in the way of his goals.

I will design this set to give Riki the look of a dangerous outlaw, someone you do not want to mess with.

I haven't done any 2d concepts yet - wanted to jump into Maya and improve my skills. I envisioned a leather face/neck protector with some sort of design on it. Something like this: http://swordstore.biz/acatalog/Leather_Gorgets_Neck_Armourt1.jpg We'll see if it works. I plan a new leather shoulder piece that connects with the face/neck piece and then I'll finish it out with wrists and weapons.

I've taken down the first model pics.. modeling before concepting is bad. :P But I was just excited to re-learn Maya a bit. I wanted to experiment with different hat/cover ideas, but I've realized that any way it's done would ruin Riki in top-down view anyway.

I thought that hiding his face a bit would give the outlaw look typically achieved with a bandana/wrap but I'll have to differentiate between them more. If you mean that my chracter concept itself might be too close to BH... well damn. You might be right.


Not sure how I'll proceed but I'll work on some 2d concepts. I don't have any delusions of winning - but it is my goal to finish an entry and luckily I have some free weeks coming up.
