Was organizing my stuff and seeing some things I did for this project. Most of these content didn't make ingame, which is sad, but I think I got some cool art to show you. I worked on these environments mainly for pre production. My tasks for the environments were terrain, rock formations and backgrounds. A lot of what I did I don't have better screens anymore, and some of this stuff is not on my folio, so I thought why not...
I invite any of the fellas at Terminal Reality to post their stuff here too!
C&C welcome.
Some materials:
This is for Rampage mode (most of this content changed):
nothing super fancy, most of our work wasn't actually used in game... Most of my "work" is polished or fixed outsourcing art. Was happy to get off that project once it was over, never really took the time to look for good shots of all my work. but making multiple tatooine tracks with you and spetch that were never used sure was fun. some stuff I found on my desktop folder.
vehicles I doodled with in free time that eventually got used * I think*
few of these shots are from assets that were made from outsourcing orignally. Had to keep the design and look the same but just used nDo and recreated the textures from scratch really quickly. Didn't really have the time to design them as i really wanted.
don't have the in game shots of these, but a few of the plants I made that blow up in felucia. The cactus one has a flowery plant that was tk-able to pull out of the base.
and some rock stuff i did for the pod racing.
sure I have lots more stuff somewhere to upload, nothing to be super proud of, but proof I wasn't sitting on my ass doing nothing for 3 years
I can't find a bunch of my files so i'll just post some of my zbrush 3d cocnepts of random races as well as the stormtrooper and B1 battle droid i did while i was there. i'm sure they got touched up and fit to the style after i left but here's what i did before i elft... man it doesn't feel like it was over 2 years ago. i can't wait to see what my fellow coworkers over there post up because they did some really great work on that project and man am i proud of them!
Guess I should drop some stuff in. I can't find any of my zbrush textures though, looks like you found yours Hugo.
This got canned for gameplay purposes, but Josh, Hugo, Juan, and I sculpted this entire track in sections w/ zbrush to create a macro normal map.
we made lots of breakers.
Yes, I made one of these.:)
Jabbas Palace before dance laser beams. Hugo and I worked on this together.
Jesse Sosa on he twi'lek and Dusty made the original Jabba
I tag teamed with Alex to get this environment done. Austin took this shot for me of the grass. It's really not that many polys, lol
Kashyyk Rocks were all made with 3dcoat voxels, and have a blended moss and rock shader on them. If I was to do this again I would have just used world space coodinates to project the moss on top. This looks like alot of polys but it's not that bad.
For surfaces, we used of course clay tubes and trimsmoothborder in zbrush. Then a bit of trimdynamic after. This made everything faster when making rock tileables. Also, store a morph target after you have the base forms, add some noise, and then scrub off what you do not want. If I have time i'll dig up some .ztls and post more. Hugo might be able to add to this.
Sorry guys, I'm using zBrush 4R4 and it seems that I can't find the trimsmoothborder brush (or pretty much any of the older trim brushes besides trimdynamic and trimadaptive). Is there a place I can download the trimsmoothborder brush or are the older brushes stowed away somewhere I'm not looking?
The trim smooth border brush should be included in the brushes folder even with R4. If you can't find it in there, PM me and I'll send it to you.
If you want a chizzled look then add alpha 28 to your brush. It's the same alpha being used for claytubes. I usually tap with the tablet on to the mesh, very quickly to "trim" or take off sections of mesh. Tapping fast gives it a more organic feel. You can also turn the z-depth down and create alot of flat rock-face surfaces with this brush.

Awesome work. I just keep scrolling through it over and over.
Haha, great work; thanks for sharing!!
Thanks guys, that log was used everywhere.
It's exactly what Spetch mentioned above, really.
That log is the best.
Great stuff guys.
thx man, yes, u got it right, trimsmoothborder is the best one.

Go to brushes - trim - and u'll find it there, you will be able to save it to your default menu after u get it.
Btw, thanks for the kind words again!
