Shadow issue - Tree branches gets almost pitch black

Hey Polycount, this will be my first post here on the forum :).

I recently started making my first enviroment in UDK. It's alot to learn but I think I got a pretty good grasp of the basics now. However I ran into a problem last night.
I've made a tree with alpha planes for the smaller branches. It looks fine when I render it in Maya but when I import it to UDK I get some issues with the shadows on the alpha planes. Here are some screenshots showing how it looks.

One of the smaller branches I use:

And here is the material I've set up: shader_problem_2.jpg

I followed the "foilage for UDK" tutorial on 3dmotive, but instead of useing 3ds Max I use Maya. This is why I rebuilt the lightning in the shader.

Hope this makes any sense to you guys. I'm fairly new to working with photo textures aswell as UDK so it might've been something I missed on the way.

Thanks in advance,
Oskar Dahl
