I recently decided to take up modelling as a hobby
I'm quite keen to develop a medieval mod for sc2 and relying on external modeling has proven to be a little unpredictable to say the least
So, without further adue, I present to you my first attempt at modeling a 3D character:
Starcraft 2 is a top-down strategy game so units are generally low-poly so this is the style I'm aiming for.
This model is also a work in progress and I'm really keen to put this forward to the experts at polycount to get some feedback as I'm all about improving my skills
Just the base model at present, however, planning to teach myself the main aspects of game modeling (modeling, rigging, animating and texturing) so expect more from me soon
More WIPs to follow!

While I haven't drawn any myself, I'm aiming to achieve something that resembles this image:
So eventually, some form of Knight character with chain/plate armour, and a black tabard.
Being low poly, a lot of the detail will be achieved within the texture. However, I'm keen to get some feedback on my basic human shape and would love to hear any suggestions for improvement
Note, sword and shield are enlarged for better visibility in a top-down environment
Developed a rough texture for the model. Still need to add normal and specular maps.
To help put things in perspective, the model is for a top-down SC2 mod so the model will appear roughly this size in-game:
More updates to follow soon
its better if you also provide SS from another angle.
Looks good so far!
